Growing[]
If you do not have a garden in which to grow thyme, it will grow on a windowsill which receives sufficient light.[2]
Location[]
Choose a well-drained sunny spot.[2]
Sowing[]
Sow seeds in trays of seed compost in a coldframe. Do not cover seeds: they need light to germinate.[3]
Transplanting[]
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 8cm (3in) pots of potting compost.[3]
Plant outdoors in autumn.[3]
Harvesting[]
Pick sprigs of thyme when needed.[3]
Continued care[]
Divide plants every three years and replant.[2]
